A project close to my heart is coming back.

On May 8, the second edition of In the Black 2.0 takes the stage at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Harold Shenkman Hall.

In the Black features stand-up comedy from Black comedians across Canada, sharing stories about what it’s like to live, work, and laugh while Black in their communities.

Last year’s show sold out and spotlighted performers from west of Montreal. This year, the focus shifts east, highlighting voices from Ottawa and beyond — including a special humorous musical performance.

More than a comedy show, In the Black 2.0 is a celebration of culture, storytelling, and community. Arrive early or stay after to explore the Vendor Market, and know that part of the event profits will support local charities selected by the performers.

If last year is any indication, expect a joyful, high-energy night filled with big laughs and even bigger stories.
