The In the Black comedy showcase had a sold-out debut in 2025 at the Shenkman Arts Centre’s Richcraft Theatre, funded in part by the ARTicipate grant. Created and produced by Dawn Xanklin Comedy, In the Black events explore the connections that our Black-identifying performers have to their parts of Canada.They explore the question: what’s it like for these Black humorists to be Black in Canada?
