After a sold-out debut in 2025, “In the Black” returns to the Shenkman Arts Centre on Friday, May 8 at 7:00 PM with a bold new focus on Black voices connected to places East of Ottawa, including Maritime provinces.

Produced by Dawn Xanklin Comedy, “In the Black 2.0” is a high-energy stand-up showcase featuring a dynamic lineup of comedians sharing sharp, funny, and meaningful performances rooted in culture, identity, and lived experience. Hosted by Rose-Ingrid Benjamin, the show includes Samson Imanirambonas, The Velvet Duke, Xavior Kayvon Gough, Janelle Niles, and Daphney Joseph.

More than a comedy night, In the Black 2.0 is a space for laughter, connection, and community. A portion of proceeds will support charities selected by the performers.
